Summer reflections

Summer is upon us, and in Sweden, the long-awaited summer holiday is just around the corner. We'll summarize the year so far and look ahead to what’s to come when we return from our holidays.

During the year we have announced that you now can find OnceMore® in modal thanks to fiber producer Tangshan Sanyou. Modal fibers are produced in a modified viscose process yielding stronger and more durable fibers. The fibers exhibit similar qualities as traditional viscose, giving breathable and soft fabrics. Also, Modal fabric showcases rapid-drying properties, ensuring a comfortable and versatile fabric.

Another partnership that we revealed during the year is our partnership with LSJH. LSJH is a Finnish municipal waste management company who are focusing on finding circulatory solutions for all household textile waste in Finland. They are a pioneering solution for post-consumer textile waste collected from households and a valuable feedstock that holds significant potential in our view.

We have been showcasing at the Global Fashion Summit in Copenhagen, the Future Fabric Expo in London and at Challenge The Fabric in Milan where fantastic designer ABRA competed with his design based on OnceMore® at the CTF Award 2024.

In May we released the first episode of the OnceMore® podcast series together with Scandinavian MIND where we together with BESTSELLER talks about our co-operation, innovation, and new ways of working. The second episode will be released soon and it touch upon the new regulations regarding the textile industry – our own expert Maria Persdotter Isaksson, Industrial Policy Specialist, and Åsa Degerman, Manager of OnceMore® together with Konrad from Scandinavian MIND makes it all a bit easier to understand what’s coming. The podcast series contains five episodes and will be released during the year.

We have introduced two new brands – VILA and OBJECT. VILA has produced two pieces based on OnceMore. And OBJECT made a spring collection based on OnceMore®, in the form of knitted tops which embody OBJECT’s design aesthetic - simple, effortless, and versatile. Each piece is a blend of 52% OnceMore®.  OBJECT is the third BESTSELLER brand that chooses to work with OnceMore®. Selected, another BESTSELLER brand announced on their LinkedIn, that they will release a collection based on OnceMore next year - we can’t wait!

Our collaboration with Lindex is also evolving. From the start in 2022 Lindex has produced over 1 million garments based on OnceMore®. In May we announced a studio collection that celebrates the Swedish midsummer. The collection celebrates both brands’ Swedish heritage with a contemporary, feminine edge, making a bold and sustainable fashion statement. Filled with one-of-a-kind blossoming styles, the collection’s prints are inspired by the Swedish countryside, and further highlights the conscious approach by Lindex and OnceMore to create a better future and environment.

It's not only our partnerships that grows, so does also our social medias – you can now find us on Instagram.

We will end the summer on top with a new partnership together with designer FEBEN. Can’t wait to tell you more about this.

During September we will, together with Circular Textile Foundation, host a webinar focusing on strategies for textile recyclability. Sign up link will be provided closer to the event.

During the fall we will be showcasing OnceMore® at the Future Fabric Expo in New York. If you are interested in meeting up, please let us know.

Also, we’re sorry to say that our friend and colleague Angeline is leaving OnceMore® after the summer. Angeline has been with us almost from the very beginning of OnceMore® and has made a significant contribution both to the brand and the business. She was one of the driving forces behind developing the business model as it is today, and she has embodied the OnceMore® brand with her dedication and passion. We will miss her greatly and wish her all the best. We welcome Madeleine Bernhard as new Business Developer.

At least, happy summer holidays or glad sommar as we say in Sweden.
