Time to celebrate but no time to rest

We’ve coma a long way since then, regrouping Södra Cell’s sales admin, planning and general administration under one organization. It involved operations and management setting up from scratch. We brought in competence from several areas but most of our staff were new to Södra and had everything to learn about our business, our customers, and being part of the Södra culture. Today we have a sales admin team of seven multi-lingual people, with the competence to substitute each other, so consistent customer service is assured.

In total the Munich office has nine employees, not counting the sales directors in Zurich and Hamburg who are also part of Södra Cell GmbH. From Munich we support all sales directors who have customers in continental Europe, handling invoicing, orders and deliveries, and generally making sure the shipment is tailored to the customer’s specific delivery needs. Communication is very tight to make sure all orders flow as smoothly as possible and we use all the competence we need from Växjö for planning and logistics, for example.

The most important working tool in both Munich and Växjö is the new business system, AXCell, which Södra Cell International introduced in early 2018 and which uses Microsoft Dynamics AX. This year we will focus on fine-tuning the system which has improved our efficiency in warehousing, invoicing and order handling. We’re really pleased with the effort everyone has invested to get the most out of the technology and very satisfied with the results so far. A few challenges remain to bring the programme up to speed, which is entirely normal with a system change of this magnitude, but we’re excited by the increased flexibility and functionality we’ve achieved so far, and excited to see what we can do next.
