Lessebo recognises importance of shared knowledge

Last month, Swedish premium-quality graphic paper producer Lessebo Paper invited Södra to join their sales conference in Lessebo so we could share our thoughts and actions on sustainability.

Södra’s Sales Director Maria Staxhammar explains: “As Lessebo Paper’s sole pulp supplier, the idea was to offer their sales team an insight into our business and our perspective on sustainability. This hopefully gives Lessebo Paper’s sales force an added understanding of the value chain beyond the paper mill, and a new dimension to use when talking to customers about sustainability and sourcing. We were delighted to be invited because these kinds of meetings and education opportunities benefit us all.”

Maria presented an introduction to Södra and outlined the background and purpose of the The Journey campaign as well as Södra’s strategy for communicating sustainability. Sustainability Manager Kristina Altner talked about the sustainability journey, and Tomas Rahm, Environmental Manager for Södra Skog, discussed advances in forestry and responsible forest management.

Lessebo’s CEO, Eric Sigurdsson: “The environmental profile of Lessebo Paper is unique, and it is key that our sales team is educated about the environmental effects of the paper industry. Lessebo Paper has one of the lowest CO2 emissions in the paper industry and we improve our operations on a regular basis. Södra’s participation at our sales conference added value by showing and explaining their work with environmental considerations.”
