Global Pulp News Taking care of every step

Taking care of every step

We’re delighted to announce that Take Care 2.0 was launched on 28st May. This programme will help ensure that everyone in the supply chain takes the best care they can of our pulp until it reaches your mill gate.

Johannes Bogren, who heads up the Technical Product Managers, explains: “Take Care 2.0 has two main focal points. From our side, it means getting it right before the pulp leaves our mill. One change, for example, will be an additional wire so that all bales will be wrapped 2 x 2 to ensure the envelope wrapping remains tight throughout the journey. We will also be making sure that all units are clearly marked with uniform specifications, from barcode/font size etc, to simplify identification and tracking.

“The second focus is on what happens to the pulp when it leaves us. All those involved in handling our pulp will receive a new set of guidelines detailing what we expect and suggesting optimal ways of caring for the pulp until it reaches our customers.”

Take Care 2.0 is being rolled out at Mörrum and Mönsterås initially with the new wiring beginning 1st July. Värö will follow.

“We take any complaints about pulp damaged in transit very seriously,” adds Johannes. “We’re keen to virtually eliminate any errors caused by mishandling by 2021. We’ll be launching e-learning tools for all involved in logistics, we’ll be visiting all our terminals in Europe over the coming months and we’ve asked three customers to provide detailed feedback as we watch the programme unfold.”
