As the sole softwood pulp supplier to Swedish tissue producer Klippans Bruk, we’d like to offer our congratulations on the startup of their new PM 11 which began production last August. 

At 3.2 m wide and running at 1,700 m/min, the new machine will add 30,000 tpy of white and coloured tissue to Klippan’s capacity. The machine is double the width of the existing line which supplies customers in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. 

Lennart Larsson, Klippan’s Production Manager, says the partnership between Södra and Klippan has been long and successful. “Södra has been our sole supplier of softwood pulp since 2006 and we have supported each other throughout the years, in both good times and bad. We will be producing the same grades on PM 11 as the existing PM 9 but we are always keen to discover new markets and applications and we know that Södra is a great partner when it comes to development.  They are not just a regular pulp supplier: They invest significantly in R&D and go above and beyond when it comes to joint projects and the development of new qualities.” 

Klippans Bruk’s official inauguration will take place next Spring, as Larsson explains: “We didn’t think we’d risk holding it just yet as winter is approaching – springtime in Sweden is a much safer bet!”
