Johannes Bogren addresses Argus Methanol Forum

Johannes addressed the audience during the session Facilitating the transition to renewable methanol: an enabler for carbon neutrality, during a three-day event covering all aspects of methanol production and markets.

“It’s three years since we fired up the in-house biomethanol plant with our proprietary process at Mönsterås,” says Johannes. “We call our product Liquid Forest™ Biomethanol, because it is Swedish forest in liquid form!”

Liquid Forest™ Biomethanol is created using a by-product stream which most pulp mills incinerate. The energy required in the process is also based on renewable wood. It’s a small step in terms of volume but in paving the way for other pulp mills to follow, it’s a significant step towards a fossil-free society.
