This year, Södra Cell is expanding its supplies of wood to include deliveries from several new countries. “Most of our wood will continue to be sourced from our own members’ forests in Götaland, Southern Sweden,” explains Eva Thuresson, Sustainability Information Manager, “but it is important that we retain optimal flexibility and security of supply for our customers at all times, and that our customers always know their wood supply is coming from sustainable, reliable sources.”
Södra Cell Mönsterås will source some softwood from northern Poland and Lithuania for its Södra black, Södra blue and Södra green production. Södra Cell Värö will source additional softwood for all its grades from south and west Ireland, northern Poland and northern Germany. All imported wood will be either FSC certified or from FSC-controlled sources.
