Autumn: Time to harvest the fruits of our labour

Here at Södra, our staff have hit the ground running after the summer: Värö has exceeded its capacity targets and our production expectations (see below). We are just about to run an ECF campaign and are optimistic that we will see the fruits of our labour from the last few months as Värö really begins to take off.

In the meantime, staff at head office are busy collating the results of the qualitative part of our latest customer survey – thank you to all who took part, your feedback is essential (part two is ongoing – read more below).

One thing that struck me from the initial feedback from the survey is that when asked why you chose Södra, those of you who took part in the survey cited relationships and the close cooperation between Södra and its customers in the pursuit of quality as the primary reason for your loyalty. This was closely followed by our products and the recognition that the breadth of our portfolio is hard to beat. Third was communication. It seems our efforts to be proactive in marketing and communications are appreciated, but just as important is our transparency and openness.

We always appreciate our customers’ loyalty and partnership, but perhaps especially so this past year during the challenging time of bringing a new line to life. We are grateful for your patience and understanding, which we feel confident will be rewarded as Värö begins to show what it can really do.

We will continue to work in close cooperation to achieve the best results that we can for our customers and trust that you will enjoy the results of the investments we have made during the past 18 months as they come to fruition at all three of our mills. Värö is not just beating production expectations; the new ECF pulps look very promising in terms of quality and we very much look forward to helping you put them to the best use.
