We are delighted to invite you to an exclusive two-day visit to our pulp mill in Värö on 15-16 November, to learn how we work with sustainability as well as to gain an inside view of the Swedish forest.
Forests are important for everyone, they always have been. But if we want to continue enjoying our forests and all that they offer us, long-term, sustainable forest management is more important than ever.
As a large forest industry group creating products and services for global markets, Södra takes its responsibility for the forest very seriously. We are a democratic association with 53,000 members, all of whom own a forest estate in southern Sweden. For generations, our sustainable solutions from wood and pulp have helped build our society.
Värö is one of our three pulp mills. It sits on the Värö peninsula, some 60 kilometres south of Gothenburg. In many ways, Värö has always been a forerunner in terms of sustainability, including switching production to chlorine-free pulp and becoming fossil-free in day-to-day operations. Värö is also home to Södra Innovation, our R&D hub.
