Our Sustainability questionnaire matters: Here’s why

Cell Produktfotografering 2024

We know it can feel as if everyone is asking you for feedback these days, but we’ll soon be sending out an important questionnaire which is much more than a survey.

Knut Omholt, Climate Impact Engineer

Our Climate Impact Engineer, Knut Omholt, explains: “We have set ourselves ambitious goals as part of the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), but we are only one link in the value chain. We cannot operate in a vacuum. The beauty of the SBTi is that everyone is connected throughout the value chain. Our Scope 1 and 2 emissions are your Scope 3 and vice versa, so it really is vital to work together towards our shared vision of reducing GHG emissions and this starts with understanding and the sharing of information. Scope 3 emissions are the most complex, as they are released both upstream from our suppliers and downstream to our customers.

“Our intention is to increase climate benefits all the way from our members’ forests to customers’ products. With this in mind, Södra is committed to engaging both suppliers and customers to join the push for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. That’s why we will be asking you about your own targets and commitments to SBTi, where you are on your own journey and what you hope to achieve. Understanding your position and tracking progress annually will help us to meet our goals, so we in turn help meet yours.

“Please don’t ignore the survey. If you don’t have the answers yourself, please pass it to the person in your company who does. Because together we can make a difference.”
