Vacancy for a technical team player
Södra is in the process of recruiting an additional Technical Product Manager. TPMs form part of a team under Head of Product Quality Annica Larsson Ahlstedt.
Of the six team members, three are TPMs, while the other three focus on various sustainability issues. The most recent addition to the team is a Climate Impact Engineer, underscoring the growing importance of sustainability in Södra’s operations.
The team acts as a link between customers and production sites, ensuring that technical issues are addressed collaboratively to find optimal solutions.
The recruitment process is almost complete with a list of strong applicants from Sweden and abroad. In selecting suitable candidates, Annica said: “We are seeking an engineer with experience in the paper or pulp industry, preferably with knowledge of both. This position will involve significant travel, both within Sweden and to customers across Europe. Of course we are looking for someone who fits well with the team and aligns with Södra's values.”
Annica highlighted the need to balance technical advancements with environmental considerations and how the relationship between these factors will become more significant in the future. “We cannot develop or optimize if it proves to be a cost on the sustainability side," she said.
“The challenges in the paper industry are evolving, such as changes in raw material availability and consumption patterns of fiber products. These shifts necessitate a greater focus on technical issues, which is why we are adding to the team. It is important to work closely with customers to optimize processes and achieve long-term improvements.”
