Customised seminars: Lighting the spark
Södra recently held a tailor-made online seminar for valued customer Ahlström-Munksjö and their customer, release liner producer, Avery Dennison.
As Sales Director Thomas Bichler explains, the event was driven by our customer’s customer. “More than ever, businesses today want to know that their supply chain is sustainable beyond their immediate supplier,” he says. “In this case, Avery Dennison was keen to hear how its paper supplier, Ahlström-Munksjö, sourced its raw material – our pulp – and how that resource was managed.
“Due to the pandemic, we were restricted to an online event, but this three-hour workshop included footage of Jonas Larsson, Södra Cell International’s Manager Customer Supply, in one of our forest estates from where he could explain the journey of a Södra tree from seed to harvest.
“We also discussed how we protect biodiversity, the importance of innovation, breakthroughs such as Södra’s OnceMore® technology which recycles cotton fibres into new textile pulp, and more. This triggered a discussion on the reuse of release liners. There were no instant solutions, but it was the beginning of a conversation and that’s exciting – the spark of innovation is often ignited by a conversation.”
