Our numbers at your fingertips

Södra’s Annual and Sustainability Report for 2024 is now available on our website. You’ll find detailed financial and sustainability information here under the theme of ‘Sustainable values from family forestry’. Here are just some of the ways in which we made the most of every tree we harvested from member forests:
- We produced 1.7 million tonnes of pulp and 1.8 m3 sawn timber.
- We produced 40,000 tonnes of biochemicals. In terms of sales volumes, tall oil accounted for 87%, biomethanol 9%, turpentine 4%.
- We produced 14,000 m3 of CLT (cross-laminated timber). Our CLT is made from layers of planed spruce from our family forests for residential, public and industrial buildings.
- OnceMore® and Lindex have now produced more than one million garments based on OnceMore®.
- We delivered 3,700 GWh of solid biofuels to produce heat, renewable electricity and liquid biofuels.
- We delivered 0.4 million tonnes of biomaterials (mainly from the sawmills) for bedding materials for livestock, sawdust for the pellet and board industries and bark for covering material.
- We generated 1,700 GWh of green electricity from biomass, wind and water, a surplus enough to heat more than 50,000 detached houses.
- We made 440 district heating deliveries mainly from the excess energy from our mills, enough to heat almost 25,000 homes.
- We had a positive climate effect in 2024 of 10.4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents.
- We have set a target to carry out nature conservation measures on 3,000 hectares annually by 2025.
- We sold 37 million seedlings.
