During the autumn, Södra has developed a concept and campaign to offer its customers a tailored solution to reduce the use of fossil fuels in the logistics chain. The project is called Conscious delivery, initially adapted to Södra Cell’s customers in Europe, but which in the long run could be used for more business areas at Södra and in other regions around the world.

Södra has set ambitious climate goals for the future and has joined the Science Based Targets initiative, which means it must reduce use of fossil fuels by 50 percent by 2030 and achieve zero emissions by 2040. Although Södra has made progress on this journey, the business still has a way to go to reach the goal. Södra believes that it can achieve climate neutrality faster and more effectively through collaboration with customers and by finding solutions together.

The project does not yet have a finished solution or description of exactly how it will look. Each solution will be individual to the customer. With this initiative, Södra wants to open discussions and ask for its customers’ help to find solutions and make things happen. Although Södra cannot guarantee a certain percentage of fossil-free fuels for each customer, it can promise an individual mapping of each interested customer’s needs.

Södra Cell is launching a campaign today aimed at informing and inspiring customers about the new delivery method it wants to offer. The campaign will include films and communication tools that describe the project’s setup in a clear and engaging way. Södra hopes that the campaign will be “top of mind” among customers during London Pulp Week next week and that the initiative will be an important topic of conversation during the days there. First and foremost Södra wants to find its first pilot customers in this project who, in partnership, can find solutions to reduce the use of fossil fuels and create a “Conscious delivery” together with Södra.

“Reducing fossil emissions is both Södra’s and our customers’ biggest challenge. We see great opportunities to find solutions together with our customers, and with this initiative, we will intensify our joint efforts,” says Henrik Wettergren, Vice President Södra Cell International.
