Frequently asked questions

Can Södra’s tall oil help reduce the climate impact of fuels?

Yes, every year Södra’s crude tall oil can help reduce the climate impact of the biofuel industry by around 90,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide. Wondering if that’s a lot? The answer is yes. The amount of CO₂ saved is equivalent to a return car journey to the sun - twice.

How much can we reduce our carbon footprint by using bio-methanol from Södra?

By switching to bio-methanol from Södra, you can significantly lower your carbon footprint – by as much as 99%. The product is ISCC certified, meaning its production is environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable. As such, bio-methanol plays an important role in creating a future with less impact climate impact.

What is the difference between Södra’s bio-methanol and conventional methanol?

The properties and quality are similar, but what sets our bio-methanol apart from traditional methanol is that ours is renewable.

What does biofuel mean?

Biofuel is a collective term for fuels produced from organic material, such as forest-based raw materials. Biofuels like tall oil, bio-methanol, and pellets contribute to sustainable development as alternatives to fossil-based products.
