Allow the building to age with elegance

At Södra, we have years of experience working with wood, and we know all its possibilities. There are many different requirements on a façade. For example, on a building with environmental conditions or strict fire regulations, the façade needs to meet those same standards.

Architects are continually coming up with creative new façade ideas, but these ideas also present a steady flow of unique challenges that need to be solved. Challenges like these are what makes our knowledge and support so valuable. Södra's project department has a deep understanding of our products and extensive experience with many different types of façades. Together, we can make your ideas a reality.

Building Heat treated timber

Heat treated timber

With heat treated timber from Södra, you avoid problems with shape changes. The wood is not affected by the temperature changes that generally cause it to swell or shrink. This product is well suited for the surfaces exposed to the weather, such as facades, balconies and terraces. You can use heat treated timber together with Södra's flame retardant treatment.

Glulam panels

Södra's glulam panels are a versatile architectural material that is used in a variety of ways, to give your home an elegant and exclusive look. Each panel is 270 mm thick and is composed of 10 composite slats. The exceptionally wide panels give your facade a distinct appearance, and thanks to the full size of the panels, you can quickly cover the large areas.

Western red cedar

Western red cedar

For beautiful, durable buildings with minimal maintenance, cedar is the obvious choice. Canadian cedar is particularly well suited for façade cladding as well as various other structures such as terraces, pool decks or garden sheds. With it’s reddish-brown colour, cedar is a beautiful architectural element that truly stands out.

Building Siberian larch

Siberian larch

One of the most valued properties of Siberian larch is its impressive ability to resist rot damage and natural dacay. Our larch comes from the area surrounding the Yenisei River in Siberia. There, the raw timber is carefully selected by experienced forestry professionals who know how to spot top quality wood for the timber industry.
