Södras pulp mill in Värö is now back on track with a monthly production of close to 60 000 tonnes. The ambition is to have a stabilize production at full capacity during the second half of 2017.

It’s no secret that the last few months have been challenging at Värö: Although common for rebuild projects of this scale, a five-week delay to startup and initial teething difficulties were not ideal. However, our staff have been working around the clock to get us back on track. Production is now climbing steadily and quality is improving all the time.

Our initial ambition, to reach a monthly production of close to 60,000 tonnes in Värö, is well on schedule. We are already running at full capacity for weekly periods, and we are confident we will stabilize production at full capacity during the second half of 2017.

As a result, we are optimistic that we will be able to reward our customers’ patience in 2017 with premium-quality grades from Värö.

In addition, the planned ECF plant has now been installed at Värö and trials with ECF grades will begin at the end of January. We expect Värö to be offering world-class ECF grades by mid-2017, on schedule.
