Södra’s customers choose renewable transport solutions – Conscious delivery

Together with our customers, we achieved an important step last year: emissions from the transport of products were approximately 570 tonnes CO₂e* lower compared to a logistic setup using fossil diesel – the equivalent of driving 75 laps around the Earth by car.

More customers are choosing Conscious Delivery, our approach to reducing emissions from product transport by using renewable fuels, verified mass balance solutions, and alternatives such as biogas-powered or electrified transports.

Clear impact already today

Emissions for transport of products were approximately 570 tonnes CO₂e lower last year compared to using fossil/regular diesel. This figure will continue to grow as additional transport setups and customers are included.

Conscious Delivery continues to evolve, but the goal remains the same: to create customer value and strengthen our logistics offering by making sustainability a natural part of how we work together with our customers and suppliers,” says Johannes Bogren, Executive Vice President Södra Bioproducts.

Depending on the logistic set up, emissions from a Conscious Delivery set up can be up to 80 percent lower compared to fossil diesel. Each transport becomes an opportunity to lower the climate impact.

The climate transition requires collaboration across the entire value chain. Offering product deliveries with lower greenhouse gas emissions is an important piece of the puzzle in reaching our short-term ambition to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, says Jessica Nordin, Head of Sustainability, Södra.

Several updates from our business areas will be published shortly.
