Södra Ädla becomes an integrated part of Södra’s innovation operations
Södra is discontinuing the wholly owned subsidiary Södra Ädla AB, which has invested in innovative companies developing forestry and the profitability of the forest estate. This change is driven by a shifting business environment and the need to prioritise resources for core operations and initiatives that create the greatest value for Södra and the members of the association.
Experience and ways of working carried forward within innovation
Södra Ädla has developed ways of working, experience and networks linked to innovation close to the forest estate.
“Södra Ädla has been a way of investing in new business ideas, innovations and solutions at an early stage that develop forestry and the profitability of the forest estate. We are now taking these experiences forward and continuing the work within the regular organisation,” says Henric Brage, Head of Innovation and Strategy at Södra.
Focus on collaborations and partnerships
Going forward, the greatest value is expected to be found in collaborations and partnerships rather than in ownership. Through cooperation, Södra can make the strongest contribution with forestry expertise and access to test environments, thereby creating value for the forest estate and the members.
The change in the corporate structure does not affect Södra’s engagement in the portfolio companies Nordic Forestry Automation (NFA) and Nordluft.
“Our engagement in these companies remains unchanged, as we see that their solutions contribute to the profitability of the forest estate,” says Henric Brage.
