Södra ends its involvement in Industrikraft
Södra is leaving Industrikraft as the company begins a collaboration with Vattenfall on new nuclear power. Södra has never intended to invest in nuclear energy, but will continue to be an active participant in matters concerning the future electricity system and the landowner perspective.
Industrikraft and Vattenfall have recently signed an agreement on collaboration and co-financing for new nuclear power in Sweden. In connection with this, Södra has chosen to exit Industrikraft. The aim of the partnership has been to contribute to a stable and competitive electricity supply, but not through ownership of nuclear power plants.
Through Industrikraft, Södra has gained an important platform for cooperation on issues related to the future electricity system. As Industrikraft now takes a new direction, a new context needs to be shaped for continued collaboration, which Södra sees as particularly important in matters concerning the landowner perspective – such as compensation for power line installations.
