About the project
The architect’s focus for the new school has been to create a sustainable building that connects with the surrounding nature in Nybro.
The red window colour, for example, was inspired by Pukeberg’s glassworks industry, and most of the structural materials as well as the entire exterior facade are made of wood.
Many sustainable choices have been made by Nybro Municipality and Skanska, based on Nybro’s sustainability programme “Hopeful and Sustainable”, the goals set for sustainable development according to Agenda 2030, and the ambition to build according to the Miljöbyggnad Silver standard. One of these choices is the use of Södra’s cross-laminated timber (CLT) in large parts of the structure.

Our offer
A wise choice from family forestry
We offer processed elements in cross-laminated timber (CLT) for structural construction. Building with CLT results in lower climate impact compared to fossil-based construction materials, as it consists of a renewable resource and stores carbon dioxide.
