Glulam

For flexible and sustainable frame construction

We offer glulam for the frame to complement building with cross-laminated timber (CLT). The materials work well together and provide strong and stable construction with high flexibility. Glulam can be used for beams and columns, while CLT can be used for walls and floors. The combination of these natural materials enables buildings with low climate impact.

Frequently asked questions

What is glulam and how is it constructed?

Glulam comes in several different product formats. The glulam used for frame construction is mainly glulam beams and columns, which are often used visibly in roofs and halls with large spans.

Glulam is formed from several glued wooden lamellas. The fiber direction in the lamellas runs parallel to the length. It is manufactured in different strength classes, and in relation to its weight, glulam is one of the strongest construction materials.

How can glulam and CLT be combined?

CLT can be used as wall and floor elements, while glulam can be used for beams and columns to provide extra strength and stability in frame constructions. Glulam can be used to create roof trusses, while CLT can be used for roof panels, providing robust and durable construction. The combination of CLT and glulam can also be used to create large open spaces with high load-bearing capacity in factories and warehouses.

The combination of CLT and glulam offers the benefits of both materials to create flexible and, above all, sustainable building solutions.

The forest works for the climate

A wooden building stores carbon dioxide

The forest plays an important role for us humans and always has. During the tree's growth, it captures and stores carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. And as a wood product in a building, the storage of carbon dioxide continues throughout its lifespan. With the help of the forest, fossil materials are now being replaced in more and more contexts, thereby preventing the release of carbon dioxide which increases global warming.
