Lagerkransen, Lund

The project was carried out as a development initiative between Södra and Wästbygg. The joint project is aimed at making timber buildings attractive to residents, property managers and owners by demonstrating the technical and economic benefits of building in solid wood, as well as the opportunities created for more sustainable residential construction in a safe work environment. 

A significant focus was placed on environmental and sustainability issues throughout the project, from construction to use by residents. Lansa Fastigheter is the project's client and they bring a high level of sustainability ambition. Brunnshög is an exciting area where Lund municipality has set a high bar and imposed entirely new requirements for public transport, opportunities for urban farming, waste management, and a varied built environment with a focus on sustainability. 

Lagerkransen also offers a range of other “green” qualities to achieve the goal that residents can live sustainably in their everyday lives. 

Miljöbyggnad Guld
Miljöbyggnad is a Swedish system for environmental certification of buildings, and today, over 1,500 buildings are certified under Miljöbyggnad. Environmental certification of a building means its environmental work and performance are reviewed by a third party. The system is owned and developed by Sweden’s largest organization for sustainable community building, the Sweden Green Building Council, which also carries out the certification process.
