Field trip

OnceMore® hosted a field trip together with TreeToTextiles and Textile Exchange. A full day focused on site visits, shared learning and open discussions across the textile value chain. By looking at processes up close and exchanging perspectives in real time, we created a setting for deeper understanding and more meaningful dialogue.

From forest and recycled textiles to fibre innovation

Sweden, 28-29 May 2026

OnceMore® recently hosted a field trip together with TreeToTextiles and Textile Exchange, bringing together perspectives from across the textile value chain for a day focused on learning, dialogue and shared understanding.

The purpose of the visit was to move beyond presentations and theory. By meeting on site and spending time close to the processes themselves, participants had the opportunity to better understand the realities behind material development and the decisions that shape it.

Seeing the value chain in practice

During the field trip, participants visited Swedish forests owned by one of Södra’s more than 50,000 members, toured OnceMore® production at Södra’s mill in Mörrum, and visited TreeToTextile’s demonstration plant in Nymölla. The visits provided first‑hand insight into how early value‑chain decisions influence material properties, traceability and scalability.

By opening their operations together, OnceMore® from Södra and TreeToTextile enabled participants to better understand how wood from responsibly managed forests and recycled textile waste can be integrated into dissolving pulp and further developed into next‑generation cellulose fibres.

Dialogue, materials and real examples

The program also included a sample session featuring fashion items already on the market based on OnceMore® pulp, as well as apparel and home textile samples made from TreeToTextile’s Nyense™ fibre. These sessions enabled detailed discussions around performance requirements, sourcing considerations and what is needed to move from pilots to broader adoption.

Throughout the field trip, the focus was on open dialogue - allowing participants to ask detailed questions, share perspectives and build a shared understanding of both opportunities and challenges across the value chain.

Building understanding across the industry

For OnceMore®, field trips like this are about creating transparency and strengthening collaboration. Seeing processes up close helps align expectations and supports more informed conversations about material choices, scale‑up pathways and future collaboration.

We would like to thank TreeToTextile, Textile Exchange and all participants for contributing their time, insights and engagement throughout the program.
