• Birch pulp is easy to refine requiring less energy than other hardwoods, making this an excellent choice for energy efficiency.
• Södra gold delivers very high tensile strength, even higher than softwood grades, with only low to moderate refining.
• For tissue Södra gold provides good softness and for graphic grades it offers great printability and finish.
• All Södra gold comes certified to TCF as standard, and to PEFC or FSC®.
• Deliveries of Södra gold to Europe are baled using our environmentally-friendly FiberSafe® paper straps as standard.
• Birch is a naturally occurring species in the forests of southern Sweden and fundamental to a healthy ecosystem and biodiversity. It is a requirement of FSC® that we keep a percentage of natural species in our forests, so birch is an essential part of the sustainability mix for our members.
