Kaj 16, Gothenburg

Gothenburg Grand Central

A new station building in a completely new district. We delivered 9,100 square meters of cross-laminated timber (CLT) for the building's frame.

Hotel Arken, Eriksberg

Södra supplied materials for both the cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glulam frame, as well as providing tinted and fire-impregnated spruce cladding for the facade.

Universeum, Gothenburg

Södra supplied a variety of wood products for the expansion of the visualization dome at Universeum, a science centre in Gothenburg.

Grocery store, Sjöbo

A unique ICA store built in Sjöbo is unlike any other in Sweden. The project has high sustainability ambitions, featuring CLT, a cedar wood facade, and solar panels on the roof.

Lidl, Visby

Lidl in Visby on Gotland became the world’s first climate-neutral grocery store, clad with precision-cut, Sioo-treated glulam panels from Södra. The choice of material ensures that the façade will age gracefully.

Residential buildings

Kilströmskaj, Karlskrona

Kilströmskaj is a sustainable, industrialized construction of cost-effective multi-storey timber buildings with high aesthetic value. The project consists of one six-storey and two four-storey buildings, erected in three phases during 2020.

Ciselören, Eksjö

Ciselören is a modern property with distinctive architecture. Södra has delivered a range of special timber solutions.

Kronen, Ørestad

Södra supplied cross-laminated timber (CLT), as part of the structural frame for the Kronen apartment building, which at the time of construction was Denmark’s tallest and largest timber apartment building.

Rental villas, Viskafors

13 eco-friendly rental villas constructed with a frame of cross-laminated timber (CLT) and clad in a cedar shingle facade supplied by Södra.

Lagerkransen, Lund

Lagerkransen in Lund is Sweden’s first residential building with a wooden structure to receive the Miljöbyggnad Guld certification. The structure is made from cross-laminated timber (CLT) supplied by Södra.

Cederhusen, Stockholm

Cederhusen in Hagastaden is set to become one of the world’s largest city-centre wooden building projects. Södra has supplied the cedar shingle facade, which is being installed by ByggPartner, who are proud of their focus on sustainability.

Kvarteret Tärnan

Varberg’s first apartment building with a structure made of CLT. The building consists of seven floors with a total of 87 residences. The project is developed by Radar Architecture and Planning, Etikhus, and Turessons Bygg.

Kvarterert Navaren

Apartment building in Mölndal with a structure made of CLT and Frontwood used for interior cladding in stairwells. The Navaren block is developed by Semrén & Månsson together with Bergman & Höök.

Schools and preschools

Minneberg, Arvika

Södra delivered pine for the facade and interior cladding with treatments and colour to Minnebergs school in Arvika.

Hoppet, Gothenburg

Hoppet preschool is a unique project where everyone involved set out to achieve the most climate-neutral project possible. The building has a structure made of CLT from Södra.

Hallerna, Stenungsund

Hallerna Norra preschool in Stenungsund municipality was constructed by RA Bygg AB with a frame made of cross-laminated timber (CLT) from Södra.

Klapperstenen preschool

Preschool with a locally sourced CLT structure in Breared, Varberg. Constructed by the contractor Tage och Söner AB on behalf of Varbergs Fastighets AB.

Industrial buildings

Länghemskök

Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is highly suitable for buildings in both industry and agriculture. CLT is used optimally by utilizing large panels, which enables efficient assembly. At the same time, you achieve load-bearing capacity, fire protection and surface finish without needing to add additional materials.

Hydri Hydrogen Stations

Hydri has selected cross-laminated timber (CLT) from Södra for the construction of several new hydrogen stations in Sweden, including the stations in Värnamo, Håby, Hallandsåsen and Ödeshög.

Industrial townhouses

BraLokaler builds industrial townhouses in various locations across the country, offering both private individuals and businesses the opportunity to own their own part of the building. Units have been built In Helsingborg, Simrishamn and Kinna, using locally produced cross-laminated timber (CLT) from Södra.

CLT factory

Södra’s CLT factory in Väröbacka, just outside Varberg, was built by MTA Bygg and completed in 2022. The building spans 18,600 m², features exposed wood interiors, and houses both industrial and office spaces.
