Goals of the research project
Building with wood is becoming increasingly popular in Sweden, but there’s work to be done before we can build high-rise sustainable buildings from timber; we need more knowledge, assurance, and smarter solutions. That’s why Södra is one of 19 partners driving the eight-year research project Sustainable Building with Wood.
We want to reduce knowledge gaps
Södra contributes expertise as a manufacturer of cross-laminated timber, CLT, and as a sustainable raw material supplier, but also as a partner in developing future building solutions. We support our customers in long-term questions and work to spread knowledge not only about CLT but also about fastenings, moisture protection, and how wood best combines with other materials. We want to reduce knowledge gaps and enhance confidence to make it easy to choose CLT, to enable the next generation of timber buildings.
