Södra Cell Mönsterås
Södra Cell in Mönsterås is a high-tech pulp mill with net zero emissions and circular material flows, boasting an annual production capacity of 750,000 tonnes of pulp. Södra Wood in Mönsterås is a modern sawmill with a capacity of 450,000 cubic metres of sawn timber. The site’s port handles over 300 vessels per year. We also have a forestry office that works with our forest services and members.
From 2024, we are investing in a new sulphate lignin plant, scheduled to be operational in 2027.
In total, around 600 employees are based at the site.
Södra Wood Mönsterås
Södra Wood Mönsterås was inaugurated on 27 October 1999 and is one of the largest sawmills in southern Sweden. The site produces strength-graded structural timber, studs, CLS timber for pressure treatment, boards for battens, tongue-and-groove cladding, and packaging timber. Our main markets are Sweden and the United Kingdom.
