Frequently asked questions
What are the benefits of using pellets as horse bedding?
Pellets are very easy to muck out and take up less space in the manure pile compared to other bedding products. When watered before being placed in the stall, the pellets break down into fine particles and form a soft, light mat that is comfortable for horses to stand on.
How can pellets be used beyond horse bedding?
Pellets are just as suitable for heating as they are for horse bedding.
How are Södra’s pellets produced and why is that positive for the climate?
Södra’s pellets are produced fossil-free from sawdust and wood shavings at our own sawmills. Choosing Södra’s bedding products means a low climate effect because the raw material is renewable and the production is entirely fossil-free.
How can I use pellets in the stall?
Pellets are made from compressed wood shavings and offer a storage-friendly, easy-to-handle option for creating a highly absorbent base in the stall. Many horse owners choose to combine bedding pellets at the bottom with horse bedding on top. |
