The Swedish Energy Agency’s Industriklivet

What is Industriklivet?

The Swedish Parliament has adopted the climate goal that Sweden should have no net emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere by 2045, and thereafter achieve negative emissions. Major and complex technological leaps are required across several industries to reach this goal. To support this transition, the government has launched the long-term initiative Industriklivet.

Södra’s lignin plant is being built with support from the Swedish Energy Agency’s Industriklivet – a state-funded programme that supports technology investments aimed at reducing the climate impact of industry. Industriklivet is part of the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) and Next Generation EU.
