Södra Cell Mörrum is our speciality mill. In addition to paper pulp, this mill also produces dissolving pulp. Line 1 produces dissolving pulp from hardwood, while paper pulp from softwood is produced on line 2. This high-tech operation is up and running around the clock, every day of the year.
The mill in Värö is about to become one of the world's largest kraft pulp production facilities. Värö produces 700,000 tons of pulp and 1.6 TWh of energy annually.
Södra has a broad product portfolio, comprising both paper and dissolving pulp. The raw materials used are spruce and pine, as well as hardwood (mainly birch). Paper pulp products are divided into four main categories, dissolving pulp into two.
Södra is investing in all three of its mills, Mörrum, Värö and Mönsterås, to reinforce its market position as a global leader in market pulp.
