Responsible employer and comitted employees

We want to be a responsible employer. People should feel safe and secure at work. We are focused on occupational health and safety (OHS), succession planning and performance management, as well as creating an inclusive culture. Value-generating relationships and a long-term approach are the cornerstones of our organisational culture. Our values guide us every day and support our efforts to become a next-generation forest company. And along the way, we will also become a more attractive employer.

Targets: More women, fewer occupational injuries, a more attractive employer

By recruiting and developing the right employees, we are ensuring job satisfaction and competencies. Everyone should feel they can develop here. Our target is that 85 percent of our employees would recommend Södra as an employer by 2020. By the same year, 30 percent of our employees will be women.

The focus of our OHS procedures is preventive measures. These include training courses, risk analyses and behaviour-based safety processes. We have a zero-accident vision and a target that the lost-time accident rate (LTAR) will decline by 15 percent by 2020.

This is where we are now

Sickness absence

In 2019, sickness absence was 3.3 percent, down 9 percent compared to 2018.

Occupational injuries

We had 62 occupational injuries in 2019, down 20 percent compared with 2018.

Lost time accident rate

LTAR for 2019 was 12, down 20 percent compared with 2018.

Percentage of women employees

In 2019, the number of female employees rose to 23 percent, up 4 percent compared with 2018.
