Inside our pulp mills, we keep exploring new possibilities and employing new technology. It’s a wholehearted commitment to innovation, reaching far beyond our day-to-day business. As proud as we are of our even, outstanding quality, and our many new types of pulp, it’s all just the start. What really matters is the end products created by our customers – from everyday household items to game-changing solutions for almost any industry. That’s innovation we’d like to pay tribute to.

Process-minded innovations

Most innovation projects at Södra’s pulp mills come with a pragmatic motive, closely linked to manufacturing and optimization. By refining existing processes and turning market needs into new production lines, we make large investments in keeping our leading position.

Our recent projects include new bleaching methods that increase our customers’ choices of quality and shades, and an extra strong pulp made by carefully adjusting the recipe. To replace metal wires and make pulp bale handling easier and safer, we have launched Fibersafe, a paper strap that saves time and lowers the environmental impact.
