Södra Skog supplies forest raw materials to Södra mills. Wood from members accounted for just over 10 per cent of the year’s total harvesting in Sweden.
Pulpwood and saw logs are primarily supplied to units within the Group, while biomass fuels are supplied to external parties, such as thermal power stations. Forestry services are also performed on behalf of the members.
Södra Cell is one of the world’s largest producers of bleached sulphate market pulp with production at three pulp mills in Sweden and two in Norway.
Products are various grades of bleached sulphate pulp and CTMP. Pulp is sold pre-dominantly to European paper mills for the production of fine paper, printing paper, tissue and speciality products.
Södra Timber produces timber products and timber houses in southern Sweden and Norway. Both the sawmill and house-production operations are among the leaders in Sweden.
Products include sawn, planed and pressure-treated timber for construction and other building applications, and homes from Trivselhus. Customers are primarily the building materials trade, wood products industry and builders.
Södra Interiör is one of Scandinavia’s leading manufacturers of interior wood products with factories in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, as well as Lithuania. The business area also includes two large hardwood sawmills.
Key products are mouldings, panelling, solid flooring, glued-joint boards, poles and sawn hardwood products. Customers are primarily in the building materials trade and wood products industry.
