Södra in brief

Södra is an economic association with a membership base of 52,000 forest owners in southern Sweden. Its key function is to secure markets for its members’ forest products and contribute to the profitability of their forestry.

Södra members own a total of 37,000 forest estates which represent more than half the privately-owned forest in the region. They are also owners of a forest industry group that is active on the Swedish and international market.

The Södra Group has five business units: Södra Skog, Södra Cell, Södra Timber, Gapro and Södra Vindkraft. They process members’ raw materials to sawn and planed timber products, interior wood products, pulp and energy.

Södra is a major employer with 3,600 employees who are involved in everything from forest and environmental management to production, product development, accounting and sales.
