Södra acquires parquet flooring manufacturer Berg & Berg

Berg & Berg employs some 90 staff and produces more than 500,000 square metres of high-quality parquet flooring every year. Södra Interiör will take possession of the company on 1 February 2012.

Södra Interiör has acquired parquet flooring manufacturer Berg & Berg in Kallinge. Berg & Berg employs some 90 staff and produces more than 500,000 square metres of high-quality parquet flooring every year. The company's annual turnover stands at around SEK 130 million.

"This acquisition will further extend the range of products which Södra Interiör offers to its customers to include high-quality parquet flooring," said Urban Eriksson, CEO of Södra Interiör.

Södra Interiör has been producing solid wood flooring for a while now, and is also a supplier of hardwood products for Berg & Berg parquet flooring. Berg & Berg flooring production takes place in Kallinge adjacent to the Södra Interiör facility.

"We have good opportunities for synergies between our businesses in both the short and the long term in fields such as marketing, logistics and product development," Eriksson commented.

Södra Interiör will take possession of the company on 1 February 2012.

The company is being sold by six private individuals. The two principal owners, Jan Söderberg and Ulf Palmberg, have built up and run the company together for almost two decades. The principal owners will continue to work within the company.
