We produce pulp from forest raw materials such as softwood (spruce and pine) and hardwood (birch and eucalyptus). Softwood pulp (long fibre) makes up 80 per cent of total production and hardwood pulp (short fibre) the remaining 20 per cent. The total production capacity at our five mills (three in Sweden and two in Norway) is more than 2 million tonnes per year.
Our pulps are divided into five categories:
Södra Green
Pulp with long, slender fibres, ideal for use as reinforcement pulp in magazine paper.
Södra Blue
A perfect pulp for the production of fine paper.
Södra Gold
Hardwood pulps for use in fine paper and speciality paper.
Södra Black
Pulps with short, strong fibres which are a great choice for tissue and speciality products.
Södra Red
CTMP (chemi-thermomechanical pulp) which is ideal for tissue and paperboard.
