Södra’s Pulp Technology research department solves some of the problems that arise in pulp mills as well as developing new and efficient processes for the mills of the future.
Pulp Technology works closely with all Södra pulp mills, which enables us to share with them the results of our research and development and ensure they are used in the production process.
We also help the mills to share smart solutions with one another. Working together will always get us further than standing alone.
Pulp Technology primarily works with Södra Cell pulp mills, and is responsible for developing Södra’s knowledge in raw materials, wood chemistry, cellulose technology, fibre knowledge, refining, process technology and process simulation. Pulp Technology includes researchers and specialists who focus on these areas as well as five “moles” who are responsible for R&D contact with the mills.
