Each year, 35 million seedlings are cultivated at our nurseries in Falkenberg, Flåboda and Ockelbo for forest owners in Sweden. Members can order plants and planting from their forestry district.
The cultivation of plants enables Södras to provide members with a broad selection of quality plants at competitive prices. Cultivation material is selected to suit conditions in southern Sweden.
To give the plants the best possible start, they are initially grown in greenhouses. They are fertilised to boost their development and prepare them for planting in forest clearings.
To improve their chances of survival during the first year, the plants receive a protective treatment prior to delivery which prevents pine weevils from eating the bark and killing the plant.
Plants are delivered to local plant terminals close to customers where they are stored in a cool room and outdoors under watering.
To order seedlings, contact Södra personnel in your forestry district to arrange delivery to a nearby terminal.
