Södra Cell Tofte resumes production

Södra Cell Tofte resumed production on June 2 after a shut down of approximately two months due to weak market demand for pulp. Production at the mill is expected to be back at full capacity shortly. The 250 workers who were laid off temporarily are now back at work.

Production at Södra Cell Folla was stopped for market reasons on May 30 and will resume again on July 28.

- There have been considerable stoppages in worldwide pulp production in the second quarter this year and global pulp inventiories are now getting close to normal. Pulp demand on the Asian market continues to be good, according to Ulf Edman, President of Södra Cell International.
