An Association for Forest Owners

Every single one of the 51, 000 forest owners in Södra are part of a growing economic association. The aim of the association is to create the best conditions for you, the forest owner, and your forestry.

As a result of the economic association, the forest owners own the manufacturing businesses that refine the timber. The members earn money both by getting a good price on timber that is sold to Södra’s manufacturers and through the profits that the manufacturers create for the owners.

The more you, as members, supply to Södra – the more profitable it is to be a member.

Södra is a cooperative organisation that is run in a democratic way. Every member has a say – regardless of the size of the land they own or the size of the contribution they make.

The democratic organisation is based on local forestry areas. The members elect the representatives for the forestry area locally. As an elected representative, the task is to support the member on his own soil, to be the member’s voice at the heart of Södra and to protect the member’s right in the community to work and own his forest.

Södra operates an active economic policy in order to take into account the forest owners’ interests. The forest owner has a strong voice in the community through Södra.
