For many years, Södra has worked to make its operations a part of a forest cycle which does not harm the environment. The certifications are proof that we have succeeded.

Every department within Södra Skog, Södra Timber, Södra Cell, Södra Skogsenergi and Södra Interiör's Swedish plants operate in accordance with Environmental Management System ISO 14001. This means that we satisfy all the exacting requirements by which environmentally certified companies all over the world abide when it comes to routines and expertise.

Environmental certification also stipulates that we constantly improve. That is why we work in a systematic and goal-oriented fashion with both short and long-term environmental goals. This way, our customers can feel completely assured that we take our responsibility for the environment and for a sustainable development of nature and of our community.

The certifications serve as quality-assurance measures for both our expertise and our credibility. They show that we maintain good quality and that we are environmentally aware - both in terms of current products and future products.

Södra works with two systems for forest certification of member forest property - PEFC and FSC. For delivery of certified products, Södra Cell, Södra Timber and Södra Skog have traceability certificates from PEFC and FSC. Within the Swedish and Norwegian programme for energy efficiency, the production departments have introduced an energy management system (ELS).
