By using more energy products from Södra, together we are investing in the environment for the coming generations. The common feature of all the energy products that Södra sells is that they all originate in the forest. Bio-fuels are better for the environment than fossil fuels.

Södra offers a wide range of energy products that fit the different needs of customers. The pulp factories supply both green electricity and process energy for district heating. There are also plans to produce wind power at the pulp factories.
The factories also produce bio-fuel products such as bark, chips, fibre and pellets.
More and more of the forestry waste is also being used and is a renewable energy source. It can be developed by new methods of using the waste products in conjunction with felling.

Burning peat and wood fuel together gives very high efficiency and makes it possible to replace the fossil fuels. The peat reserves in the bogs of southern Sweden are growing and Södra harvests a number of them in co-operation with the landowners.
